Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Connecticut Robusto
- Description
One of the most consistently well-regarded everyday smokes in the premium cigar world, the Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Connecticut has been earning its reputation since 2002 and it hasn't needed to change much since.
The wrapper is where the story starts. An Ecuadorian Connecticut shade leaf, aged in bourbon barrels, gives this cigar its signature "champagne" character naturally sweet, silky to the touch, and noticeably more complex than a standard Connecticut shade. Beneath it, Cuban-seed Nicaraguan binder and filler add a gentle earthy depth that stops this from being a one-note smoke.
From the first draw it's creamy, smooth and immediately approachable notes of honey, butterscotch and toasted nuts leading the way, with a quiet oakiness underneath. Through the middle third a mild earthiness builds, followed by a whisper of black pepper on the retrohale that adds just enough complexity without disturbing the balance. The finish is clean and lingering, with that cream-and-nut character staying with you long after the ash has dropped.
At 5" x 54, it's a 40–60 minute smoke unhurried but never overstays its welcome. A brilliant pairing with coffee, a light Scotch, or true to the name a glass of champagne.
Rated 87.5 by Final Third Cigar.
